Well, hello there! We are beyond thrilled to be sharing our very first blog post with you. When I think of The Edelweiss Journal, I envision it as a place where we share our ideas and first-hand experience with our readers. It will cover everything we're known for - wedding planning, event styling, wedding day floral, DIY tips and tricks, hair styling, fashion, photography, and modesty just to name a few.
This is us. In order, from left to right - Felicia, Brenna, and Liz. This photo was taken at our business reveal and very first public event.
But wait, I know what you're thinking! You're wondering who we even are in the first place - and what we're doing here. Well, I'll tell ya'll...
"Ya'll" is short for "you all".
We are your new besties from Texas! Houston if you want to be specific. We are a trio of friends and some family (see some resemblance?) that share a love for entrepreneurship, boba tea, unique creativity, celebrations, and Jesus.
Back in 2018, we opened an extremely popular mini event space, Gild+Gather. We had every weekend booked out! We hosted children's parties, play dates, birthday celebrations, networking events, and intimate weddings. We were the owners, party planners, florists, and event stylists! A true one-stop shop.
As our business grew, so did our reputation. It wasn't before long that we were asked to do wedding planning, floral, and styling for brides getting married in larger wedding venues throughout the city. What an honor and privilege it was to play such a special part in someone's special day.
Photos of only a few wedding days we played a small part of, both in and out of our venue.
But then, 2020.
Overhead expenses were still occurring, but no social events were taking place. With social gatherings coming to a complete halt, we had a tough decision to make. That was the end of everything we had worked hard for.
NOW WE'RE BACK IN THE GAME BABY!
Our love for celebrations must go on! And my love for gifs too. We found a niche that we felt needed filling - modest wedding dresses. #modestishottest So here we are, your wedding-planners-gone-wedding-dress-dealers at your service.
The love and support has been amazing so far.
