10 Predicted Wedding Trends for 2024: What to Expect on Your Big Day

Liz Burns

Big predictions are in store for wedding trends that are sure to change things up. We have been watching trends change for years in the wedding industry and are excited to announce some unique ones on the list this year. Some may be for you, and others not, but remember to just be you, and be true to yourself on your big day!

1.Minimal Wedding Parties or Micro Weddings

This year, some people are moving away from long ceremonies and extra large wedding parties. Large wedding parties will always trend, but more intimate settings are on the list. Smaller guest lists are meant to create more meaningful interactions and moments with their closest friends and family. Elopements and cocktail style receptions are also popular.

2. Themed Weddings

We love this trend, and can't wait to see it evolve this year. Themes like this are a hit:

  1. Garden Wedding (soft colors, florals, outdoors, wooden chairs)

  2. Minimalist Chic (simplicity, elegance, nuetrals, clean lines)

  3. Industrial Vibe (Edgy, raw materials, exposed bricks, non traditional dress)

  4. Seasonal Themed (Cherry Blossoms, Beach, Harvest Festival, Winter Wonder)

  5. Enchanted Forest Theme (Fairytale, woodlands, lanterns, moss)

3.Coordinating Guest Apparel

With the addition to themed weddings, guests are being asked to participate in coordinating apparel. Examples to this are all white, all black, or even a mood board of colors to have guests follow.

4.Curated Menus and Wedding Scents

Menus are the rage this season. People are such foodies that it makes sense to have a tailored menus to the taste of the bride and groom. Snack foods are not exempt. I have seen everything from Dr. Pepper and pizza to McDonalds and dessert before dinner. If you love a certain type of cuisine, take the opportunity to showcase it at your wedding. Think boa and boba, or tikka masala and naan. You can try a total fusion of these delicacies.

We all know that a scent can easily tie a memory to the mind, so why not designate a scent to this occasion with candles or spray. This can also be a favor for your guests to take home to remember that special day.

5.Dessert Tables and Smaller Cakes

Big beautiful cakes will always be in style, but dessert bars with various selections of macarons, chocolates and donuts are making their way into popularity. Take what you like and display it on your dessert table.

6.Unique Exits and Unique Flower Girl Moments

Brides and grooms are thinking out of the box this year to make exits and other moments unique to them and their personalities. Think beach balls, dried flowers, prayer flags, and snow to throw instead of the traditional bubbles or sparklers. Exit still too meh, what about hot air balloon or boat getaways? Flower girls and mini grooms don't have to be your only choices, try flower grannies, flower guys, or petal pets. Anyone can throw flower petals, right?

7. Audio Guest Books and Picture Sharing Apps

Audio guests books are such a timeless idea. Recording on a vintage phone is even more memorable. Videographers are adding the audio guest book idea to their artwork as well.

Picture Apps like POV Disposable Camera are being used to capture candid moments and details that you and guest see during the event. A simple QR code on the table or sign will initiate your guest to participate. We love this idea.

8.Seated Wedding Party

While its been typical to have your wedding party stand on the alter with you, many are choosing seating for their party this year. They can relax and get a better view of the ceremony from the first two rows.

9.Bold Color Palletes

Colors that are trending this year include Emerald, Earth tones, Lavender, Oranges, Yellow, Navy, and Wine. We welcome bold colors and all the variations that we will see.

10.Outdoor Moments

Our fave trend so far. Nothing looks or photographs as well as the outdoors. Romantic settings for the entire ceremony or just the cocktail hour bring an ambiance to your event like no other. New things to consider are vineyards, forests, backyards, or even bubble tents.
